Jingxi Xuejie Spicy Sesame Sauce
Description
"Jingxi Xuejie Spicy Sesame Sauce" are a variety of sesame flavoured vermicelli noodles.
The artwork on the packet is very engaging and is a good example of modern Chinese product design.
Determining the provenance of these noodles took some doing due to its complete lack of English.
As far as I can tell the noodles are branded as "Jingxi Xuejie" (靖昔学姐) and it's only official website is a taoboa page.
The actually manufacture is a company called "Shenyang Zhongtian Food Limited Company" (沈阳天厨食品科技有限公司).
These guys do not have a web presence at all, their only point of contact is a phone number and an address.
These noodles where about AUD$6.00 and where (IMO incorrectly) sold as "Malatang style noodles" by my Asian grocer.
Thoughts
These noodles were great. The sauce had a pleasant sesame taste due to containing plenty of sesame seeds.
Although I do not generally like this style of gelatinous noodles, i found that it went well with the peanut butter packet.
It was sweeter than it was spicy. The meat was some sort of fish paste and added an unexpected zing to the overall meal.
The peanut butter did not fully dissolve into the liquid and ended up just eating a spoonful of peanut butter.
